One Man Dead From One Vehicle Crash

One man, age 22, died Tuesday night in a one-vehicle crash northwest of Wagner.

The names of the deceased, who was the passenger, and the male driver, 25, who sustained minor injuries, have not been released pending notification of family members.

A 2002 Nissan Altima was westbound on South Dakota Highway 50 when the driver lost control. The vehicle went into the ditch and rolled several times, striking several trees.

Both occupants were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the vehicle. The passenger died at the scene. The driver was transported by ambulance to a Wagner hospital.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol continues to investigate. Other agencies at the scene were the Charles Mix County Sheriff’s Office, Wagner Police Department, Wagner Fire Department and Wagner Ambulance.
