An Emery, S.D., man, identified as Ronald Triebwasser, was killed in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Friday afternoon near Bridgewater.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says Triebwasser, 74, was the passenger in a 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan. The vehicle was traveling west on 261st Street when it left the roadway as it approached a nearby driveway. The vehicle briefly traveled in the ditch, vaulted off the driveway approach, landed and rolled.

Triebwasser was ejected and died of his injuries.

The driver, Judith Triebwasser, 74, Emery, S.D., sustained serious non-life threatening injuries.

The Highway Patrol continues its investigation.

Other agencies at the scene were the McCook County Emergency Management, Bridgewater Fire Rescue and Salem Ambulance.
