One Dead in Tripp County Accident

A 28-year-old female died Saturday afternoon in a one-vehicle crash east of Winner.

The name of the person involved is not yet being released pending notification of family members.

Preliminary information indicates that a 2012 Ford Edge was eastbound on U.S. Highway 18 when it went off the roadway, into the north ditch and hit a tree. The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is in charge of the investigation. All information is preliminary at this time.
