One Dead in Stanley County Crash

One woman died Friday morning in a one-vehicle crash west of Fort Pierre.

The name of the person involved is not being released pending notification of family members.

Preliminary crash information indicates a 2003 Nissan Xterra was eastbound on U.S. Highway 14 when the vehicle left roadway to the north and rolled. The 36-year-old driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
