One Dead in Sioux Falls Crash

One man died early Monday morning in a one-vehicle crash on the Interstate 29-Interstate 229 interchange in Sioux Falls.

The name of the person is not being released pending notification of family members. He was the only person involved.

A 1996 Ford Explorer was traveling northbound on Interstate 29 when he attempted to take the on ramp to go north on Interstate 229. The driver lost control and the vehicle eventually rolled.

The 58-year-old driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash. All information is only preliminary at this point.
