One Dead in Roberts County Accident

One man died late Friday night in a pedestrian-vehicle crash north of Sisseton.

Names of the people involved are not yet being released pending notification of family members.

A 2007 GMC Yukon was northbound in the driving lane when it hit the male pedestrian who was walking partially on the roadway and the shoulder of the roadway. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The six occupants of the Yukon were not injured. No charges are pending against the 19-year-old female driver.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash. All information is only preliminary at this point.
