One Dead in Faulk County Crash

One person died and another person was injured Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash that happened west of Faulkton.

The names of those involved are not being released at this time pending notification of family members.

A 2001 Cadillac Seville was westbound on U.S. Highway 212 when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck head-on an eastbound 2016 Chevrolet Traverse.

Pronounced dead at the scene was the 85-year-old male driver of the Cadillac Seville. He was wearing a seatbelt.

The 42-year-old female driver of the Chevrolet Traverse received minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to the Faulkton hospital. The three male juvenile passengers, ages 14. 10 and eight, were not injured. All four occupants were wearing seatbelts.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
