One Dead in Day County Highway Accident

One person died early Saturday morning in a vehicle-pedestrian crash near Waubay.
Names of the people involved are not yet being released pending notification to family members.
A 2005 Chevy Classic car was northbound on Day County One when it struck a 37-year-old male pedestrian who was in the roadway. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both occupants of the car, the 48-year-old male driver and the 33-year-old female passenger, received minor injuries and were taken by ambulance to the Webster hospital. Seat belt use is under investigation.
South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
