One person died early Sunday morning in a vehicle-pedestrian crash east of Marty.

The name of the deceased has not yet been released pending notification of family members.

Preliminary crash information indicates that a 42-year-old man was walking east on South Dakota Highway 46 when he was struck by an unknown vehicle. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and vehicle involved have not yet been identified.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
