One big upset which ended South Dakota State’s season and a win by the defending champs in another game were the headlines of the Summit League women’s soccer semifinals in Brookings Thursday.

Omaha sophomore Bailey Cascio registered just the third hat trick in #SummitWSOC Tournament history to lead the fourth-seeded Mavericks to a 3-1 win over top-seeded South Dakota State in Thursday’s opening semifinal. It marks the third-straight year the No. 4 seed has advanced to the title game.

Denver got its three goals from a trio of rookies as the second-seeded Pioneers blanked third-seeded North Dakota State 3-0 in Thursday’s second semifinal at the #SummitWSOC Championship. With the win, the Pioneers earned the right to defend their 2017 tournament title as they advanced to the finals for the second consecutive year.
