A regular-season game between the Detroit Tigers and Kansas City Royals will be played in Omaha, Nebraska, the week before the 2019 College World Series.
The Associated Press has learned the desire is to have it serve as a kickoff to the CWS.
The game is similar to the regular-season games being played in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, in conjunction with the Little League World Series.
