The discovery of zebra mussels in Lewis and Clark Lake has alarmed state officials.
Dave Tunnik with the Nebraska Fisheries Division says the mussels have been found both on the South Dakota and Nebraska sides of the lake. . .
Tunnik says the invasive species can create a lot of damage. . .
Boaters and anglers are urged to take precautions to prevent their spread.
Power washers can remove them from the hull. A vinegar solution should be used in live bait wells. It is best to let a boat dry for five days before putting it in another lake.
