Officer Involved Shooting Leaves Salem Man in Hospital

South Dakota Attorney General, Marty Jackley says the Division of Criminal Investigation is looking into an officer involved shooting in Salem Saturday night.

Jackley says the McCook County Sheriff’s office responded to a call for help at the Brewery Bar about 10:30 Saturday night.

An incident happened outside the bar which escalated, and ended with Deputy Randy Schwader shooting the suspect. The man, identified as 38 year old Cornelius Milk of Salem was taken to a Sioux Falls hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.
Jackley says they anticipate a final report on the incident with in thirty days.
