The Organization for Competitive Markets wants records released related to a 2013 audit of the Beef Check Off. O-C-M President Mike Callicrate says his group believes the check off funds were mishandled in the past and they’ve filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia seeking an injunction and release of audit records.
Callicrate says their filing follows an 18 month struggle to obtain information that they think proves mishandling of the beef check off.
Callicrate says O-C-M believes NCBA pays for their operations through beef check off funds to promote policies contrary to what’s beneficial for the producers who pay the check off.
