The Organization for Competitive Markets has written to President Joe Biden following his issuing of the MADE IN AMERICA Executive Order. That order is intended to strengthen U.S. purchasing regulations and ensure U.S. workers a future. OCM Executive Director Mike Eby says reinstatement of mandatory country of origin labeling needed to be included in that order.

He’s hoping their letter to the President will compel him to call for Congress to pass a measure reinstating COOL.

Eby says they’re also telling the President that without COOL in place, federal procurement programs including school lunches will be receiving beef from foreign cattle.

OCM isn’t the only group pushing for reinstatement of COOL, some Senators and Ag Secretary Nominee Tom Vilsack are also open to considering that.
