A bill sponsored by Representative Steven McCleerey of Sisseton providing up to eighteen million dollars to nursing homes was killed in a legislative committee.
Despite that, Representative Ryan Cwach of Yankton says helping nursing homes is still a priority….

Cwach says while the Governor has proposed up to five million dollars in innovation grants, he isn’t sure what those would do….

Cwach says their bill would have leveraged federal funds to help keep nursing homes open…

Cwach says health care providers have told him that around twenty million dollars would just hold the system stable.
