NTSB Investigates Rail Crash

Field agents of the National Transportation Safety Board have wrapped up their onsite investigation of the train derailment and fire near Scotland.

Seven cars of a BNSF ethanol train derailed last Saturday, with three catching fire. A rail bridge was also destroyed in the crash and fire. There was no damage beyond rail property.

Turpin says they have almost all of the information they need from the site and related records…

 

Turpin says they may have some recommendations for the rail line at the end of their investigation…

 

Turpin says it may take a year for them to issue a final report on the accident.
