The Natural Resources Defense Council has filed a lawsuit in Federal District Court in Washington D.C. against the Trump administration over their executive order on regulations. The decree calls for the federal government to eliminate two regulations for every new one instituted. NRDC Government Affairs Director David Goldston says they’re concerned if the order is allowed to stand it will harm the public in a number of ways.
He says the basis for the executive order is faulty because it presumes that only the cost of regulations should be looked at and not the benefits.
Goldston says in their litigation they’re claiming the executive order is unconstitutional.
Goldston thinks the NRDC has a good chance of prevailing in the case.
