NRCS Reminds Producers Sign Up Deadline For EQIP Is March 20

USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service reminds producers the sign up deadline for the next batch of funding under EQIP, the Environmental Quality Incentives Program is March 20. South Dakota State NRCS EQIP Program Coordinator Jennifer Wurtz says those who want to participate in EQIP need to development a conservation plan.

She says there is a soil health initiative included as part of the EQIP program in South Dakota.

Wurtz says the 2018 Farm Bill provided some tweaks to EQIP with those being focuses on soil health and wildlife.

The deadline for this EQIP batch of funding is March 20 and those interested should make an appointment at their local NRCS county service center.
