The Natural Resources Conservation Service has added a new program to help restore and protect native grasslands in the Northern Plains. South Dakota NRCS State Conservationist Jeff Zimprich says it’s the Working Lands for Wildlife program. He says by restoring and protecting the grasslands it helps native species and the grasslands themselves bringing both a wildlife and economic benefit to the rancher.
He says the Working Lands Wildlife program is beneficial for both game and non game species as well as pollinators.
Zimprich says the WLWF along with other initiatives have held improve pollinator health in the state.
Zimprich says anyone interested in the WLWF program should stop at their local county NRCS office for more information.
