The USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service in South Dakota has set the deadline for enrollment for the next batch of funding under the Environmental Quality Incentives Program as July 9. South Dakota NRCS EQIP Coordinator Jennifer Wurtz says this signup is for those in the Fire Steel Creek Watershed.
She says while this enrollment is more geared toward water quality there are several practices that can be utilized under EQIP.
Wurtz says those interested in this enrollment should phone their local NRCS office for an appointment or they can go on line to apply.
Wurtz says this EQIP signup is a unique opportunity to improve the water quality in this watershed by incorporating soil health practices on producers operations.
