The Federal Emergency Management Agency announced last week they were awarding fifty million dollars to NPPD to rebuild Spencer Dam. That was destroyed in the flooding of March 2019.

NPPD Spokesman Mark Becker says that dam had been out of service and they were negotiating to sell it before it was destroyed…

Becker says they followed FEMA procedure after the flooding…

Becker says the plan is to clean up the area around the dam…

The surge from the dam caused damage downstream around Niobrara and into Lewis & Clark Lake.
