The National Pork Producers Council is urging Senate leaders to schedule confirmation votes for Trump administration nominees to agriculture. NPPC’s Dave Warner says they’ve written to both the Senate Majority and Minority leaders asking them to quickly schedule the votes for four nominees. He says tose are important positions that need to be filled because they’re vital for agriculture.

He says one of the most important posts for the pork industry is Greg Doud as Chief Ag Trade negotiator at the U.S. Trade Representative’s office.

Warner says Doud and the other three nominees have the best qualifications for those jobs.

The other three nominees include Bill Northey as Undersecretary for Farm Production and Conservation at USDA, Stephen Vaden as USDA general counsel and Andrew Wheeler as deputy administrator at the EPA.
