The National Pork Producers Council wants the Obama era Waters of the U.S. rule completely thrown out and a new one put in place. That’s following a federal judge’s decision that allows implementation of the 2015 WOTUS in 26 states while it’s on hold in 24 other states. NPPC’s Dave Warner says they’re asking the courts to stop the Obama ear regulation.

He says the present South Carolina court decision leaves a lot of confusion among producers as to what is and isn’t waters that must be regulated and how producers need to comply with that.

Warner says producers want to do the right thing in protecting the environment but the 2015 WOTUS rule is too overreaching along with being unclear.

Warner says NPPC will appeal the South Carolina rule that allowed WOTUS implementation in 26 states and will also continue asking for a nationwide stay on the regulation.
