The leadership of the National Pork Producer Council is looking forward to working with Scott Pruitt, who was just confirmed as Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency. NPPC President John Weber says as Oklahoma’s Attorney General Pruitt has a good track record of treating agriculture and business fairly. He thinks that will translate well into his new position.
He’s also confident Pruitt will take a reasonable approach to environmental and agricultural issues and be open to listening to all sides.
Weber says pork producers are very interested in having clean air and clean water and want to work with the EPA to achieve those goals.
Weber is hoping Pruitt’s opponents will come around and give him a chance to run the federal agency.
