A U.S. District Court has dismissed a HSUS lawsuit against the EPA alleging the agency would not regulate CAFOs. NPPC President John Weber calls it a minor victory although he says the battle isn’t yet over.

The Court threw out the HSUS lawsuit because they didn’t give EPA 180 days notice of their intent to sue, which is required. HSUS officials say they will re file their lawsuit however. Weber says the activists are going to push their agenda through the courts.

Weber says the pork industry has been and will continue to work with the EPA on air emission issues.

NPPC has been working with the EPA since 2006 on handling air emission issues surrounding CAFOs.
