Nebraska Pork Producer Association members are hoping State Senators pass on final reading today LB 176, a measure that would let in-state packers own hogs. Association Executive Director Al Juhnke says his group and other proponents were able to share with lawmakers the importance of this measure to their industry.

Juhnke says this measure will be beneficial for both pork producers and packers.

Nebraska ag groups are split on the legislation.
