The week’s cross country runners of the week in the Great Plains Athletic Conference both come from Northwestern College.

Women – Katie Bosch, Northwestern College

Northwestern’s Katie Bosch is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Women’s Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. Bosch, a senior from Ankeny, Iowa, was the top NAIA runner at the Augustana Twilight, a meet featuring NCAA D-I, D-II, D-III and NAIA teams. The senior finished eighth overall among the 310 total runners, with a personal-best time of 18:08. Bosch, an all-conference runner in 2016, has four top 10 finishes in her career.

Men – Peter Smith, Northwestern College

Northwestern’s Peter Smith is the GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Men’s Cross Country Runner-of-the-Week. Smith, a senior from Polk, Iowa, led No.7 Northwestern to a seventh place finish in its season-opening meet at Augustana College. He placed 32nd among 280 runners from NCAA D-I, D-II, D-III and NAIA teams and was the top NAIA runner with a 4-mile time of 20:22.
