Harvest has gone well so far in Northwest Iowa. Iowa State University Extension Field Agronomist Joel DeJong says soybean harvest is virtually completed with 98 to 99 percent done and yields varied widely and were impacted by dry conditions.
He says soybean yields would have been better with more moisture as dryness negatively impacted what came out of the fields.
DeJong says corn harvest is now over half done and yields are coming in quite mixed.
DeJong says the biggest problem faced by Northwest Iowa farmers on their corn on corn acres was corn rootworm damage which greatly hurt yields.
