Producers wanting to add pork to their livestock operation or start in the business will want to attend the Northeast Nebraska Swine Summit. Its set for the Northeast Community College Wednesday July 17. Nebraska Pork Producers Association Executive Director Al Juhnke says he’s been hearing a lot of interest in pork industry expansion.

He says they’ve held several similar swine seminars in the past that have been well attended, especially in eastern Nebraska.

Juhnke says everything from zoning to environmental regulations and landowner relations will be talked about.

The meeting runs from 9 am to 4pm. It’s co-sponsored by the Nebraska Pork Producers Association, Nebraska State Agriculture Department, the Alliance for the Future of Nebraska Agriculture and Northeast Community College.
