Northeast Nebraska Highway 12 Project Still Active

A long stalled road construction project in northeast Nebraska is moving ahead….slowly.

Department of Transportation District Three Engineer Kevin Domogalla says the Highway 12 project near Niobrara is still very active..

Domogalla says work is underway on project details….

That section of highway near the Standing Bear Bridge is impacted by the rising waters of Lewis & Clark Lake.

Domogalla says they plan is to rebuild the highway in its current location…

An earlier plan to move the highway south to the face of the river bluff was rejected by area residents.
