North Dakota Wheat Commission members hosted a trade team of Philippine millers this week. Wheat Commission Vice Chairman David Clough says as they approach harvest their spring wheat crop is looking good.
Clough says the Philippines is the top market for U.S. hard red spring wheat. He says the trade group as well as the rest of the Philippine customers are very quality conscious.
Clough says he’s traveled to the Philippines in the past and is pleased his group has been able to cement a relationship with this group of millers. He says that’s key to future business. Currently the Philippines and Japan are the top markets for U.S. spring wheat.
