Norfolk High School is joining Kearney and Lincoln Pius is accepting invitations to join the Heartland Conference in the 2018-19 school year.

Norfolk will leave the Greater Nebraska Athletic Conference to join an 11-team league which includes six Lincoln schools as well as Fremont and Grand Island.

The move will mean less overall travel for Norfolk teams as well as being part of a league entirely made up of Class A schools.
