The Yankton County Commission got a request at their meeting earlier this month to add a short segment of road to the county system.
The proposed road would allow commercial development on some land on the south side of Highway 52 west of Yankton near Lewis & Clark Lake.
Commission Chairman Dan Klimisch says they don’t get many request like that…
Klimisch says road construction is usually left to the developer….
Klimisch says any new development has to be a benefit to the county..
The commission took no action on the proposal. There was an ordinance passed years ago prohibiting the commission from adding any more miles to the county road system.
