No Minnesota Special Session This Year

Following three months of negotiations, Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton announced there will be no special session to address a one-billion dollar bonding bill for public construction projects and a 260 million tax relief bill. The sticking point, funding for the Southwest Light Rail Line project. House Speaker Kurt Daudt says while he respects the governor — he’s the one who held the tax bill hostage:

Dayton says it’s all about the politics and for some their campaign for re-election. He says not one dollar of state money would have been used for the Southwest Light Rail project.
