No Immigration Bill Means Problems

No Immigration Bill Means Problems

Passage of immigration legislation by the US House this year is unlikely, and that has many disappointed. One of those is Minnesota Milk Producers Association President Pat Lunemann. He says failure to get that measure passed will cause problems not only for the dairy industry but for agriculture in general.
Lunemann says the effects go far beyond production agriculture and to other parts of the industry.
Lunemann says they will make another attempt at immigration reform following the election or early next year with a new Congress.
It appears House Speaker John (bay-nur) Boehner is unwilling to bring the measure forward. Last year the Senate passed an immigration bill. President Obama continues to look for some way to push the issue administratively but those chances aren’t very good.
