Following last week’s vote against unification of South Dakota Wheat Growers and North Central Cooperatives, it’s unlikely another attempt will be made to merge the two entities. That’s according to North Central Cooperative Manager Mike Nickolas.

Nickolas says he thinks the results of the vote shows that cooperative members like the way both co-ops are operating separately and want to see that continue.

Sixty one percent of the Wheat Grower cooperative members approved the unification, while North Central members turned it down with 51% opposed and 49% approving it.
