There will not be football in Freeman this fall, or next fall.
The Freeman School Board voted at a special meeting last night to vacate their varsity schedule for the next two seasons.
Superintendent Don Hotchkiss says it came down to numbers.
Hotchkiss says they are looking at options that would let their kids play football somewhere.
Hotchkiss says they hope to revive the program in the future.
Hotchkiss says they will go to the South Dakota High School Activities Association for help. Their first game was scheduled for August 28th.
