The Preservation of Rural Iowa Alliance is disappointed in the 2015 Iowa Legislative session, as lawmakers ran out of time before taking any action on an eminent domain measure. Alliance President, Carolyn Sheridan says they’re hoping the work from this session will build momentum for passing one next year.

Sheridan says they’ll not only prepare for a legislative push next session, but they’ll turn their attention to stopping the Rock Island Clean Line Energy project.

Sheridan says the eminent domain bill they supported this session required any company using eminent to domain to obtain at least 75 approvals from landowners before proceeding.
