The Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department received a grant to engage family members of post 9-11 military veterans to discuss what type of resources or support systems are currently available to them, in order to build a statewide action plan to better serve those families.
Emergency Response Coordinator with NNPHD, Kim Schultz
Schultz says although this grant focuses specifically on post 9-11 veterans, she can speak from experience as a military veteran
Schultz says there can be a tough transition when a vet returns home to assimilate back into their community
Schultz says there will also be some focus on the gaps in services many veterans experience with the Veterans Administration.
Making Connections Community Conversations will be held Thursday, April 28th from 6-7:30pm at the Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department building 215 N. Pearl Street in Wayne, NE
