This week, the House Judiciary Committee approved and sent to the full House, an Ag Labor Bill. National Milk Producer Federation’s Vice President of Government Relations Paul Bleiberg says the Farm Workforce Modernization Act is a positive measure that helps address the needs for workers in both dairy and other areas of agriculture.

He says the legislation helps with immigrant workers who are already in the United States and also provides a guest worker provision for future ag laborers.

Blieberg hopes the bill moves quickly, possibly as early as next month.

Nearly 300 groups including the National Milk Producers Federation are calling on House leadership to move the bill through the chamber.
