President Trump’s latest executive order on immigration targets immigrant guest workers at high tech companies, but avoids workers in agriculture. Chris Galen of the National Milk Producer’s Federation says they’re pleased the President didn’t target guest workers in agriculture. However, the immigrant labor problem must be still solved and agriculture, particularly the dairy industry, needs a solid guest worker program.

He says his group wants to work with Congress to get a suitable guest worker immigrant policy approved.

And Galen says most immigrant dairy workers are positively contributing to the economy and paying taxes, despite what anti-immigration policy advocates are claiming.

Galen says most of the immigration policy decisions will likely be decided in the House and Senate Judiciary committees.
