The National Milk Producers Federation along with the U.S. Dairy Export Council are voicing concerns about port delays costing America’s dairy exporters from getting their product out to foreign customers. Federation Executive Vice President of Policy and Development Strategy Jaime Castaneda says the port problem has become increasingly serious.

He says they’ve already talked to Congress about the problem and now want quick action from the Administration to address it.

Castaneda says America’s ports and infrastructure badly need modernization and those ports need to be open 24-7 which is what other countries are already doing.

Castaneda says they’d like to see the USDA, Department of Transportation and the Administration all work together to solve the port delays.
