The National Milk Producers Federation has written to President Donald Trump asking him to stay the course on retaliation against the European Union on unfair practices related to dairy. Federation’s Vice President of Trade Policy Shawna Morris says the WTO recently authorized retaliatory tariffs against the E.U. from the United States connected to E.U. airbus subsidies.

She says the E.U. has been standing on geographic indicators to unfairly protect their dairy products against U.S. dairy.

Morris says the U.S. trade deficit with Europe just on dairy is $1.5 billion. She says that trade must be evened out.

Morris says the E.U. policies have been supporting Italian initiated bans on American made parmesan, asiago, and gorgonzola cheese.
