National Farmers Union leaders are calling on trade negotiators working on the Trans Pacific Partnership to include strong language addressing currency manipulation concerns. NFU President Roger Johnson says the results of currency manipulation have been devastating on the U.S. economy.
Johnson says currency manipulator China, although not involved in the TPP talks is having a negative impact on some countries involved in the discussions.
He says the latest country to devalue its currency is involved in the TPP talks and that is Vietnam.
Johnson says his group will oppose any TPP deal that doesn’t address the currency manipulation problem.
