Last week the United Nation’s Climate Summit was held in New York City. Three agricultural groups were represented including National Farmers Union, National Corn Growers and the American Soybean Association. NFU Vice President of programs Chandler Goule who attended says the group decided to take an all inclusive approach to dealing with climate change challenges by addressing climate change with agriculture and food security.
Goule says Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack addressed the group and talked about USDA Climate Hubs and the role they can take in helping agriculture mitigate the effects of climate change.
Goule says dates and times for that have yet to be set. He says Summit goers called for supporting the Global Alliance for Climate Smart Agriculture.
