The National Farmers Union wants the EPA to increase the use of biofuels as well as higher blends of ethanol to reduce carbon emission standards and improve the environment. NFU President Rob Larew shared that message at a recent EPA hearing on the planned revision of the light duty vehicle greenhouse gas emission standard.

He says part of the key to reducing those carbon emissions is through higher ethanol blends which can be done right away.

Larew says one component of improving the environment would involved reinstating year round use of E-15.

Larew says he told the EPA they need to acknowledge the potential for high octane, low carbon fuels such as E-15, E-30 that would reduce GHG emissions from light duty vehicles.
