National Farmers Union members have come out opposed to the Senate Republican Health Care legislation intended to replace the Affordable Care Act. NFU President Roger Johnson says one of the major problems with the Senate measure is that it significantly increases premiums for older Americans, higher that what was allowed under Obamacare.

He says the Senate measure calls for a major premium hike on farmers.

Johnson says another problem with the Senate legislation is that it cuts Medicaid which impacts rural America more severely than urban populations.

Johnson says there’s no doubt the ACA needs fixing but he says a better solution for Congress would be to address those fixes rather than repealing or replacing it.
