A court has granted an injunction blocking SYSCO from buying U.S. Foods for fear it will reduce competition among food supply companies. Earlier the National Farmers Union approved a resolution opposing mega mergers in Agriculture. South Dakota Farmers Union President Doug Sombke says he sees the SYSCO deal as another example of concentration that needs to be stopped.

Sombke says they oppose concentration and are watching out for producers and consumers.

SYSCO corporation officials are disappointed with the court ruling and are considering their options.
