The National Farmers Union says legislation re-introduced by Virginia Congressman Bob Goodlatte to reform the Renewable Fuel Standard would harm agriculture and be a setback to the environment. NFU Vice President of Programs Chandler Goule says Representative Goodlatte attempted this measure last year and found no traction. He’s concerned however it may be a tough fight to defeat this legislation.
Goule says Goodlatte’s measure is based on false arguments such as food versus fuel.
Goule says NFU is working with Corn and Soybean Growers, Growth Energy, and RFA and others in battling against this legislation.
